As it goes, this is the second week of harvesting for my CSA program. It feels good to get a couple of weeks under my belt. You begin to feel a rhythm for the season. You can never be too comfortable with that feeling though, because in this line of work there are oh so many variables. One that has me a bit concerned is our weather outlook for Monday night, temperatures below freezing for 6 to 7 hours with a low of 26. There is snow in the forecast, I can only hope that we get a few inch covering of snow on top of the plant blankets, to keep the frigid air off of the plants. All of the little plants and the warm soil can melt the snow from the ground up and create little igloo’s for themselves.
